For eco-conscious brands, look for FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification to ensure the wood pulp used for rayon is sustainably sourced, and check for REACH compliance if exporting to the European Union.

Rayon is prized for its silk-like luster and soft drape. Request a 'hand-loom' or 'strike-off' sample to evaluate the softness, breathability, and moisture absorption. High-quality rayon should feel cool to the touch and have a fluid movement without being overly transparent, unless specified for lightweight scarves or overlays.

Color variance between digital screens and physical fabric is common. Always provide Pantone TCX/TPG color codes and insist on a pre-production sample (PPS) for approval. Ensure the contract states that the bulk production must match the approved PPS within a 95% tolerance level.

Focus on tiered pricing based on volume and ask for all-inclusive quotes (FOB) to avoid hidden local charges. Negotiate a payment structure of 30% deposit and 70% balance after third-party inspection but before shipment. Mentioning your long-term sourcing plan can often secure a 5-10% discount on initial sample fees.
