For versatile needs, consider Triple Durometer (e.g., 75/90/75) which combines a hard core for stability and soft edges for ink flow.

Prioritize High-Grade Polyurethane (PU) over rubber. PU offers superior abrasion resistance and chemical stability against aggressive solvents and UV inks. Ensure the supplier provides solvent-resistant grades to prevent the blade from swelling or warping, which can ruin print registration.

The Square Edge (Straight) is the most common for flat surfaces and general textile work. A Round Edge is used for heavy ink deposits (like puff inks or glitter). A Single Bevel or Double Bevel edge is preferred for printing on curved substrates like bottles or ceramics to ensure precise contact.

Ensure the product meets REACH and RoHS standards, especially if the printed end-products are for the EU market, to guarantee the absence of harmful phthalates. Request ISO 9001 certification from the factory to ensure consistency in blade thickness (tolerance within ±0.1mm) and hardness.

Scraper blades are sensitive to temperature and pressure. Require the supplier to use reinforced cardboard tubes or flat-pack wooden crates rather than simple plastic bags. Ensure the blades are stored flat and away from direct sunlight in the warehouse before shipping to prevent 'memory' deformation of the polyurethane.

Focus on Volume-Based Tiered Pricing. Since scrapers are often sold by the roll or meter, ask for a 15-20% discount for orders exceeding 500 meters. Additionally, negotiate for free samples (excluding shipping) to verify the Shore A hardness before committing to a bulk contract.
