For global trade, the product must carry CE, RoHS, and FCC certifications. If exporting to the North American market, UL or ETL certification is highly recommended for electrical safety. For outdoor totems, ensure an IP65 or IP66 waterproof rating and IK10 impact resistance to protect against vandalism and extreme weather conditions.

Confirm if the supplier provides a Content Management System (CMS) and whether it supports remote cloud-based updates. The hardware should be compatible with multiple operating systems, typically Android 11.0 or Windows 10/11 Pro. For seamless integration, ask if the supplier provides API documentation for third-party software and supports 4G/5G/Wi-Fi/Ethernet connectivity options.

The casing should be constructed from cold-rolled steel or aluminum alloy with a powder-coated anti-corrosion finish. The front glass must be tempered glass (at least 4mm-6mm thick) with anti-glare (AG) or anti-reflective (AR) coatings to improve readability and user safety in high-traffic areas.

Digital signage is fragile and heavy. Insist on honeycomb carton packaging with EPE foam buffers, and for bulk sea freight, require fumigated wooden crates or flight cases. Always negotiate CIF terms or ensure you have comprehensive marine insurance that covers 'all risks' to protect against transit damage.

Prioritize Audited Suppliers who have undergone on-site inspections by third-party institutions like SGS or TÜV Rheinland. Review their Full Audit Report to check their production capacity and quality control processes. Use the Secured Trading Service (STS) to ensure your payment is only released after you confirm receipt of the goods.

Since returning large kiosks is cost-prohibitive, negotiate a 1% to 2% spare parts kit (including power boards, remote controls, and cables) to be included with the shipment. Ensure the contract specifies a 1-3 year warranty where the supplier provides free replacement parts and remote technical video support for troubleshooting.

Beyond the unit price, negotiate the MOQ for logo customization (OEM) and the lead time for mass production.
