Request a PMI (Positive Material Identification) test report before shipment. You can also hire a third-party inspection service to perform a spectrometer test on-site at the factory to ensure the nickel and chromium levels meet the 304/316L specifications.

Focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Negotiate based on volume-based pricing tiers (e.g., 500+ vs 2000+ pieces). Ask for free samples to test the precision of the machining and the quality of the weld ends before committing to a bulk contract.

Ferrules are prone to scratches on the sealing face. Ensure the supplier uses individual plastic capping for the flange ends and bubble wrap or foam dividers within the cartons. For large sea freight orders, specify fumigated wooden crates to prevent crushing and moisture damage.
