Request salt spray test reports (typically 24 to 48 hours) to ensure the finish (chrome, nickel, or matte black) is resistant to corrosion. For sensor-based products, ask for the battery life cycle (ideally >100,000 flushes) and the IP rating (IP65 or higher) for the electronic components to ensure water resistance. Easy-clean silicone nozzles on showerheads are a preferred feature as they prevent lime-scale buildup, reducing long-term maintenance costs.

The primary risk is thread compatibility. Different regions use different standards such as NPT (National Pipe Thread) for the US and G (BSP) threads for Europe and Asia. Importing the wrong thread type will render the stock unsellable. Always confirm the target market's plumbing standards with the supplier before production. Another risk is counterfeit certifications; always verify certificate numbers directly on the issuing body's website.

Start by requesting a Gold Member supplier with a verified factory audit report. Negotiate a staged payment plan, such as 30% deposit and 70% balance after a third-party pre-shipment inspection (PSI). Clearly define the AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) in your contract, specifically for leak tests and finish defects. For bulk orders, insist on a 1-2% spare parts allowance for high-wear items like washers and O-rings.
