Q:What is the working principle of the sand filter?

Raw water enters the filter inlet and percolates through a thick layer of graded particles. Suspended materials attach to the media, and clean water flows out through nozzles. When pressure differential increases, a backwashing cleaning process is triggered.

Q:How does the automatic cleaning process work?

In automatic installations, a pressure differential switch senses when the pressure reaches a preset value. It sends a signal to the controller to start backwashing, where pressurized water flows in reverse to suspend the filter bed and wash out dirt particles.

Q:What are the maximum and minimum pressure requirements?

The minimum working pressure is 0.15Mpa (0.2 Bar) and the maximum working pressure is 1.0Mpa (10 Bar). The backwashing pressure is at least 2 Bar.
