Q:Does this sensor have anti-pinch safety protection?
A:
Yes. The M218D creates an infrared safety beam across the door gap. If any person or object breaks the beam during closing, the sensor immediately sends a stop or reopen signal to the door controller, preventing the door from closing on the obstruction.
Q:What is the difference between single beam and double beam mode?
A:
In single beam mode, one pair of electric eyes is mounted at 60cm from the ground. In double beam mode, two pairs are used - one at 30cm and one at 90cm - providing more complete coverage to detect both low obstacles and standing pedestrians simultaneously.
Q:How many sensors are needed for one automatic sliding door?
A:
One M218D controller unit with one pair of electric eyes (single beam) or two pairs (double beam) covers one door. For doors with both indoor and outdoor safety requirements, one unit per side is recommended.
Q:Where are the electric eyes installed?
A:
The transmitting (blue cable) and receiving (black cable) electric eyes are mounted on opposite sides of the door frame, facing each other across the door gap. Minimum installation height is 20cm from the ground. Each cable is 5.5 meters long, covering most standard door frame widths.
Q:Can the output signal be switched between NO and NC?
A:
Yes. The NO/NC selection dial switch on the main controller toggles the output without any wiring changes, compatible with all standard automatic door controller input types.
