Q:How does the hydraulic elevator dam operate?

The back side is supported by two hydraulic cylinders powered by a hydraulic station. Hydraulic oil moves the cylinder rod to realize blocking and discharging flood.

Q:What is the lift time and drop time?

The lifting time of a single gate is about 1min/m. The lowering time can be adjusted between 30s and 30min.

Q:Can the water be blocked at any height?

Yes, the hydraulic elevator dam can achieve arbitrary dam high water retention.

Q:How does the dam work if sedimentation on top of its surface is more than 30 cm?

It is designed to withstand severe mud and sand sedimentation. It can adjust up to a vertical angle of 75 degrees to wash away sedimentation. If not completely removed, the remainder is not significant enough to affect operation.
