Q:What is the difference between near-bit and string stabilizers?

Near-bit models are installed above the drill bit to prevent deviation in directional wells with shorter length. String models are mounted among drill collars to centralize the string and repair undergauge holes in vertical wells.
Q:What raw material is used for the stabilizer body?
A:
We use forged AISI 4145H Mod alloy steel for all tool bodies. Complete quenching and tempering heat treatment ensures high torsion resistance and impact toughness for deep wells and hard formations.
Q:What is the function of hardfacing on tool blades?
A:
Tungsten carbide hardbanding is welded on blade contact surfaces to greatly improve abrasion and erosion resistance, extending downhole service time and reducing round trips to lower total drilling costs.
Q:How to decide whether to use a stabilizer or PDC reamer?
A:
Choose a stabilizer if you only need to centralize the drill string and control deviation. Choose a PDC reamer if you need to enlarge the hole diameter and repair undergauge sections. They can also be combined in one BHA for better performance.

A:
