Refining slag, also known as synthetic steelmaking refining slag, is a key synthetic metallurgical auxiliary material for ladle refining processes such as LF furnace, RH and CAS-OB.
Refining slag is applicable to LF ladle refining furnace, RH vacuum refining, converter tapping slag washing and electroslag remelting.
It mainly serves for efficient desulfurization, deoxidation and adsorption of non-metallic inclusions to improve the cleanliness of molten steel. Meanwhile, it accelerates slag formation and protects
It can be added to the bottom of the ladle before tapping and mixed into slag by the impact of molten steel flow. It can also be supplemented via silos or lances during the refining process.
