Bismark Brown G (C.I. Basic Brown 1) is one of the earliest and most established diazo dyes, known for its excellent water solubility and strong tinctorial power. It produces a distinctive yellowish-brown shade that is difficult to replicate with other basic dyes, making it a preferred choice for specific textile and leather applications where color tone consistency is critical.

Bismark Brown G is widely used for dyeing cotton, wool, silk, viscose, and acrylic fibers. It is also suitable for leather, paper, bamboo, and wood coloring, and can be used in the manufacture of pigment lakes for paints and inks.

It is a brown to dark brown powder, easily soluble in water producing a yellowish-brown solution. The maximum absorption wavelength is 457~463 nm in water.

Bismark Brown G has relatively low light fastness (typically Grade 1-2 on cotton). It is not recommended for outdoor or long-term exposure applications where high light fastness is required. For such applications, we recommend evaluating alternative dyes with higher fastness properties.
