Naphthol as-Bo Azoic Coupling Component 4 Naphthol Dye for Textile

Naphthol AS-BO (C.I. 37560 / Azoic Coupling Component 4) is classified as a high substantivity naphthol, whereas Naphthol AS and Naphthol AS-OL are classified as low substantivity naphthols. It produces distinctive violet maroon to jujube red shades when coupled with diazo components, while other AS products typically produce red, orange, or maroon shades. It also has strong coupling ability and high affinity for cotton.

Main applications include cotton yarn, cotton fabric, cotton knitted fabric, corduroy, vinylon, viscose fiber, silk, and nylon. It is mainly used for dyeing cotton fiber and as a cotton printing primer. It is generally not used for printing. It can also be used for manufacturing fast pigments, neutral particle pigments, and organic pigments.

When combined with Red B base, it produces violet maroon (jujube red) shades with good sun fastness. With Scarlet R base, it produces similar shades to standard. It can also be used with various other bases including Red RL, Red ITR, Red RC, Scarlet RC, and Blue BB to produce different red, scarlet, and bluish shades.

Naphthol AS-BO is a key intermediate for synthesizing Pigment Red 16 (PR16) and Pigment Red 134 (PR134). It is also used for manufacturing fast pigments and other organic pigment intermediates.

Naphthol AS-BO has high affinity for cotton and strong coupling ability. It is mainly used as a primer for cotton fiber dyeing and printing. It offers good sun fastness (Grade 5-6 with Red B base). It is suitable for dyeing cotton yarn, fabric, knitwear, corduroy, and various synthetic fibers. The product can be made into fast pigments, neutral particle pigments, and organic pigments. It is generally not used for printing applications.
