A: It is a safety device installed in the elevator pit. When the elevator car or counterweight travels beyond its normal limit, the buffer absorbs the impact energy and brings the car to a controlled stop - protecting passengers and equipment. It is a non-linear energy-accumulating buffer suitable for rated speeds up to 1.0 m/s.

A: This buffer has an outer diameter of 220 mm and a height of 80 mm. The mounting hole distance is 200 * 200 mm. The allowable gross mass (P-Q) range is 1500 - 7200 kg. Rated speed: less than 1.0 m/s.

A: Polyurethane buffers are smaller, lighter, and maintenance-free - they do not require oil changes or fluid level checks. They offer excellent recovery and aging resistance. Hydraulic buffers are typically used for higher speeds (>1.0 m/s). For low-speed elevators (less than 1.0 m/s), polyurethane buffers are the preferred choice for their simplicity and reliability.

A: Replace if you notice: visible deformation, surface cracking, powdering, hydrolysis, or inability to recover after compression. Per T/CEA 0055-2024, the buffer should also be replaced if it fails the specified technical conditions during inspection. Regular visual inspection is recommended.
