This mechanism is made for headrests or armrests that tilt into several fixed positions. Two parallel mounting plates sit at the top of the assembly and are drilled for screws.
One plate carries three countersunk holes and the other carries four. The screw pattern gives a secure fixing into the wooden frame of the moving part.
Below the plates a round pivot housing contains the locking joint of the unit. The assembly is connected to a rod that is bent at a right angle.
A collar and a heavy coil spring sit on the lower part of the rod. The spring keeps the mechanism seated inside its socket after installation.
Zinc plated plates are combined with polished chrome parts for a durable finish. This hardware is intended for use inside upholstered sofas and chairs.
