Animal feed biotin manufacturers

Biotin for animal feed is typically available in 2% (adsorbed on a carrier) or 98% (pure) concentrations. For most premix and compound feed applications, the 2% feed-grade biotin is preferred as it ensures better mixing uniformity and prevents dosage errors. Ensure the carrier is stable, such as silica or calcium carbonate, to maintain potency during storage.

Buyers must prioritize suppliers with FAMI-QS (Feed Additives and Pre-mixtures Quality System) or ISO 22000 certifications. For the European market, compliance with EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) regulations is mandatory. Always request a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for every batch to verify that heavy metal limits (Lead <5ppm, Arsenic <2ppm) and microbial counts meet international safety standards.

In swine, Biotin is essential for hoof integrity and reproductive performance, reducing lameness in sows. For poultry, it prevents Fatty Liver and Kidney Syndrome (FLKS) and improves feathering. In ruminants, it is proven to increase milk yield and strengthen hoof horn hardness. Understanding these use cases helps in determining the inclusion rate (mg/kg) required for your specific formulation.

Biotin is relatively stable but sensitive to high humidity and strong oxidants found in mineral premixes. Look for products with a shelf life of at least 24 months. Ensure the packaging is light-proof and moisture-proof (aluminum foil bags). When sourcing from Made-in-China.com, verify if the manufacturer uses micro-encapsulation technology to enhance stability in aggressive premix environments.

The primary risk is regulatory non-compliance at the destination port. Many countries require import permits and product registration for feed additives. Additionally, quality degradation during long-sea transit due to heat can occur. To mitigate this, use reputable inspection services like SGS or Intertek to conduct pre-shipment inspections (PSI) and ensure the HS Code (typically 2936.21) is correctly declared.

Biotin prices are subject to raw material (e.g., fumaric acid) market fluctuations. It is wise to negotiate long-term supply contracts with a price-adjustment clause or seek volume-based discounts (typically 5-10% for FCL orders). On Made-in-China.com, prioritize Diamond Members or Audited Suppliers as they are more likely to offer stable pricing and reliable lead times.

Utilize Escrow services or Letters of Credit (L/C) for large-scale transactions to ensure payment is only released upon proof of shipment. For shipping, CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) is often convenient for new buyers, but FOB (Free On Board) provides more control over logistics costs. Ensure the supplier provides a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) to the carrier, as Biotin is classified as non-hazardous but requires proper handling documentation.
