Black garlic extract manufacturers

When sourcing Black Garlic Extract, the most critical quality indicator is the concentration of S-Allyl Cysteine (SAC), which is the primary bioactive compound. High-quality extracts should also specify the polyphenol and flavonoid content. Ensure the product is derived from a natural fermentation process (typically 60-90 days) without the use of additives or preservatives. The extract should have a dark brown to black color and a characteristic sweet-savory profile without the pungent odor of raw garlic.

As a health-related product, Black Garlic Extract must meet stringent safety standards. Buyers should prioritize suppliers with ISO 22000 or HACCP certifications for food safety management. For entry into the US market, FDA registration and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) compliance are essential. If targeting the European market, ensure the product meets EFSA regulations and is REACH compliant. Additionally, Organic (USDA or EU), Halal, and Kosher certifications can significantly expand your market reach.

Black Garlic Extract is available in liquid, powder, or oil forms. For powders, confirm the mesh size (typically 80-100 mesh) to ensure solubility and mixability in final applications. Check the extraction ratio (e.g., 10:1 or 20:1) or the standardized percentage of SAC (e.g., 1% or 3% SAC). Also, verify the moisture content (should be <5% for powders) and heavy metal limits (Lead <3.0mg/kg, Arsenic <1.0mg/kg) to ensure product stability and safety.

Black Garlic Extract is widely used in the Nutraceutical industry for antioxidant and cardiovascular health supplements. It is also a popular ingredient in the Functional Food and Beverage sector, used in energy drinks, health tonics, and as a natural flavor enhancer in gourmet sauces. The Cosmetic industry utilizes its antioxidant properties for anti-aging skin care formulations.

To mitigate risk, always request a COA (Certificate of Analysis) for every batch before shipment. Utilize third-party inspection services (such as SGS or Intertek) to verify the SAC content and microbial limits at the factory. For secure transactions, use secured payment terms and consider sourcing through reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com, which offers supplier audit reports and trade security features.

Focus on volume-based pricing tiers; typically, orders exceeding 500kg can see a 10-20% price reduction. Negotiate for free samples (usually 50g-100g) to conduct independent lab testing before committing to a bulk purchase. Discuss packaging customization, such as vacuum-sealed aluminum foil bags or fiber drums, to ensure the extract's shelf life (usually 24 months) is maintained during long-transit shipping.

Black Garlic Extract is sensitive to high temperatures and humidity. Ensure the supplier uses moisture-proof packaging and consider temperature-controlled shipping for liquid extracts to prevent fermentation or degradation. For customs clearance, ensure all HS Codes (typically 1302.19) and Phytosanitary Certificates are accurately prepared to avoid delays at the border.
