Onion extract powder manufacturers

When evaluating Onion Extract Powder, the most critical factor is the active ingredient concentration, typically measured by the ratio (e.g., 10:1 or 20:1) or specific compounds like Quercetin or Polyphenols. Ensure the powder is 100% water-soluble if intended for beverage or liquid applications. Additionally, check the mesh size (standard is usually 80-100 mesh) to ensure uniform mixing and the moisture content, which should be below 5% to prevent clumping and microbial growth.

As a food or supplement ingredient, Onion Extract Powder must meet stringent safety standards. Buyers should prioritize suppliers with ISO 22000 or HACCP certifications for food safety management. For entry into the US market, FDA registration and GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) status are essential. For European markets, compliance with REACH and EFSA regulations is required. Furthermore, obtaining Kosher or Halal certifications can significantly broaden your consumer base.

Always request a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for every batch, which should detail the heavy metal limits (Lead, Arsenic, Mercury, and Cadmium must be within safe ppm levels) and microbiological profiles (Total Plate Count, Yeast & Mold, E. coli, and Salmonella). For high-end applications, ask for HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography) test reports to verify the botanical identity and prevent adulteration with fillers like maltodextrin beyond the agreed percentage.

Onion Extract Powder is widely used in the Food & Beverage industry as a natural flavoring agent and preservative due to its antimicrobial properties. In the Nutraceutical industry, it is sought after for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits, particularly for cardiovascular health. It is also increasingly used in the Cosmetic industry, specifically in hair care products, to promote hair growth and scalp health.

The main risks include quality degradation during transit due to heat or humidity and customs rejection caused by improper labeling or lack of phytosanitary certificates. To mitigate this, ensure the product is packed in vacuum-sealed aluminum foil bags inside fiber drums and verify that the supplier provides a Phytosanitary Certificate and a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).

Suppliers often offer tiered pricing; for Onion Extract Powder, a 15-20% discount is common for orders exceeding 500kg. When negotiating, focus on the long-term contract value rather than a one-time purchase. Request a paid sample (100-200g) first, and insist that the bulk order quality matches the sample exactly, documented via a Proforma Invoice (PI).

Utilize secured payment terms such as Letter of Credit (L/C) or payment through reputable third-party trade assurance services. For shipping, Sea Freight is most economical for bulk (over 200kg), but ensure the use of desiccants in the container. For urgent, smaller batches, Air Freight (DHL/FedEx) is preferred to maintain freshness, though costs are higher. Always clarify the Incoterms (FOB or CIF) to define where the risk transfers from the seller to the buyer.
