Sequin mould manufacturers

When sourcing sequin moulds, the material grade is paramount. You should prioritize high-carbon steel (SKD11 or D2) for the punch and die components to ensure a long service life, typically exceeding 5 to 10 million strokes. The precision tolerance should be maintained within ±0.002mm to ensure the sequins have clean edges without burrs. Additionally, verify if the mould features a progressive die design, which allows for high-speed production and integrated waste removal, significantly increasing operational efficiency.

Compatibility hinges on the shut height, shank diameter, and feeding pitch. You must provide the supplier with your machine's technical data sheet. Ensure the mould's feeding mechanism (mechanical or pneumatic) aligns with your press. For international buyers, it is critical to confirm the mounting hole patterns and whether the mould requires a specific lubricant system to prevent overheating during high-speed cycles.

Suppliers should ideally hold ISO 9001:2015 certification for quality management. For the outputted sequins, the mould must be designed to handle materials that meet REACH or OEKO-TEX standards if the sequins are for the garment industry. Request a Mould Trial Report and a Video Inspection of the mould running at the rated speed to verify stability and output consistency before final shipment.

Sequin moulds are primarily used in the textile, fashion, and craft industries. Customization is a major factor; professional suppliers on Made-in-China.com can offer custom shapes (stars, hearts, logos) and multi-cavity designs to increase output per stroke. You should also inquire about surface treatments like TiN (Titanium Nitride) coating, which reduces friction and extends the interval between maintenance sharpening.

Utilize Trade Assurance services and insist on a pre-shipment inspection (PSI) by a third party. Request the supplier to provide sample sequins produced by the actual mould during the FAT (Factory Acceptance Test). Ensure the contract specifies a warranty period of at least 12 months covering the main die components.

Focus on the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the initial price. Negotiate for spare parts (such as extra punches and springs) to be included in the package, which can reduce future downtime. For large orders, propose a staged payment plan (e.g., 30% deposit, 40% after trial video, 30% after QC report) to maintain leverage.

Sequin moulds are heavy and susceptible to rust. Insist on vacuum packaging and anti-rust oil coating, followed by a sturdy fumigated wooden box (IPPC standard). For shipping to Western markets, Sea Freight is most economical, but ensure the Incoterms (FOB or CIF) are clearly defined to avoid hidden port charges at the destination.

Look for the 'Audited Supplier' badge, which indicates the supplier has been verified on-site by third-party institutions like SGS or Bureau Veritas. Check their export history and 'Years as Gold Member' to ensure they have experience handling international logistics and customs documentation.
