For automated packaging, the coefficient of friction (COF) of the film is critical; it should be optimized for the supplier's machinery to ensure smooth feeding. Additionally, ensure the tearing notch (V-cut or I-cut) is precisely positioned for consumer convenience.

Suppliers must provide Food Contact Certificates such as FDA (US), REACH/LFGB (EU), or GB 4806 (China). Since salt is a food product, the manufacturing facility should ideally hold ISO 22000 or HACCP certifications to guarantee food safety management. If the salt is iodized, the packaging must be opaque to protect the iodine from degradation caused by light exposure.

Cost-efficiency is driven by volume and material thickness. Purchasing in bulk (MOQs of 100,000+ units) can reduce unit prices by up to 40%. Negotiate a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) clause where a third party (like SGS or Intertek) verifies the seal integrity (burst test) and weight accuracy. Insist on a 1% - 2% spare quantity to cover potential machine wastage during the filling process. For bulk orders, FCL (Full Container Load) is the most economical and safest method to prevent cross-contamination from other goods.
