Buyers must specify the end-use to the supplier, as feed-grade UCO (used in animal nutrition) has different hygiene and toxin (e.g., dioxin) requirements compared to technical-grade UCO.

The biggest risk is adulteration, where suppliers mix UCO with palm oil or acidic oils to increase volume.
