Q:what is spray welding?
A:
spray welding ivolves preheating the self-fluxing alloy powder coating and then reheating it to 1000 to 1300 deg C. The particles melt, and slag floats to the coating surface. Borides and silicides form and disperse uniformly within the coating, achieving strong bonding between particles and with the substrate surface.
Q:What powder is required?
A:
Self-fluxing alloy powder, usually NiCrBSi, CoCrBSi, FeCrBSi, or WC-reinforced self-fluxing blends.
Q:What fusing methods are used?
A:
Oxy-acetylene torch, induction heating, furnace (controlled atmosphere), sometimes laser fusing.
