Naphthol as-BS Azoic Coupling Component 17 Naphthol Dye for Textile

Naphthol AS-BS (C.I. 37515 / Azoic Coupling Component 17) is a 3-nitro-substituted naphthol derivative with a meta-nitrophenyl group, which produces distinctive rose red to purplish red shades. It is mainly used as a red primer for cotton dyeing. In comparison, Naphthol AS typically produces standard red shades, while AS-OL produces orange to maroon shades, and AS-BO produces deep maroon to violet shades.

Main applications include cotton yarn and fabric dyeing and printing, viscose fiber, vinylon, silk, and hemp fibers. It can also be used for discharge printing of cotton fabric. It serves as a primer for cotton fiber dyeing and as an intermediate for organic pigments.

With Fast Scarlet R, it produces rose red shades. With Fast Scarlet G, it produces brilliant bluish peach red. When used as a primer with Naphthol AS or AS-OL, it can produce various red and purplish red tones. It is mainly used for producing bright red and purplish red shades on cotton and linen fibers.

Naphthol AS-BS is a key intermediate for producing pigment red 18, pigment red 23, pigment red 31, pigment red 114, pigment red 157, and pigment red 212. It is also used for producing fast pigments and neutral elements.
