This black-coated steel mechanism is built from tubular rails and divides into three articulated sections so it can fold into a sofa frame.
The head and middle sections are filled with fine crisscrossing wire mesh, while the foot section uses a grid of wide black woven straps.
The sections are joined by heavy-duty hinges, and pivoting arms and springs around the joints guide the folding motion.
A mounting plate with pre-drilled holes is built into the hinge area so the mechanism can be bolted to the inside of a sofa body.
When unfolded, black support legs and horizontal bracing bars rest on the floor so the unit forms a complete bed platform.
