This unfolded sofa bed mechanism shows a full rectangular sleeping deck formed by heavy black fabric stretched across a black metal tube frame.
The fabric deck is attached to the perimeter frame by rows of small coil springs that keep the surface taut and evenly supported.
Two U-shaped black legs fold down beneath the middle section to hold the bed level when it is opened out for sleeping.
A heavy mounting rail with pre-drilled holes and notches on one side is intended to be bolted into the wooden frame of a sofa.
Multiple pivoting struts joined with rivets let the sections collapse into a compact sofa shape when the bed is folded away.
