This hinge is built for adjustable headrests on upholstered furniture. Each unit is formed by a chrome L rod, a ratchet joint and a flat mounting plate.
The lower end of the rod is threaded and fitted with a large washer and locking nut. This end passes through the furniture frame so the hinge can be secured firmly.
The mounting plate spreads into two wings that are drilled with round holes and elongated slots. The slots allow the headrest bracket to be aligned before tightening.
The ratchet joint lets the plate tilt forward through a series of locked positions. Each click holds the headrest at an angle that suits the user.
Polished chrome parts are paired with zinc plated plates for durable hardware. The left and right units of the pair are made to match both sides of the furniture.
